Ingredients
- 1 cup freshly brewed coffee, hot
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 cup milk, any kind (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- whipped cream for topping
- chocolate shavings for garnish
Directions
- Brew your coffee using your preferred method until you have 1 cup of hot coffee ready.
- In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Stir well to blend the dry ingredients.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, add 1 cup of milk. Heat the milk until it is warm but not boiling, about 3-4 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.
- Once the milk is warm, add the cocoa-sugar mixture and whisk until fully dissolved, about 1-2 minutes. You want the mixture to be smooth and creamy.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- In a large mug, pour the hot coffee first, then gently add the chocolate milk mixture on top. Stir lightly to combine.
- Top your café mocha with a generous dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate shavings for a delightful finish.
