Ingredients
- 1 package Churros Pré-Frito - Maheso
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup heavy cream, warmed
- 4 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- for frying vegetable oil
Directions
- In a large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) for frying the churros. Ensure there is enough oil to fully submerge the churros, about 3 inches deep.
- While the oil is heating, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a shallow dish and set aside.
- Once the oil reaches the desired temperature, carefully add the Churros Pré-Frito in batches (about 4-6 at a time) to the hot oil. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- While the churros are still hot, roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until well coated. Set aside on a wire rack to keep them crisp.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, chopped bittersweet chocolate, vanilla extract and sea salt. Stir continuously until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth, about 3-5 minutes.
- Remove the chocolate sauce from the heat and let it cool slightly before serving. It should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon but still pourable.
- Serve the churros warm with the spiced chocolate sauce for dipping.
