White beans are an excellent source of vegetable protein. They contain a high amount of fiber (usually 10 to 11 g per serving or 1/2 cup). White beans also contain more calcium than dark beans. White beans can be prepared in many ways: as a spread (cooked, pureed and mixed with olives, herbs and spices); as a "protein bomb" e.g. in a tomato soup, as a "white chili" or as a simple and surprising ingredient in the salad.
